Q: What are Spider Veins?


A: Spider veins (also called telangiectasias) are clusters of tiny blood vessels that develop close to the surface of the skin. They are often red, blue, or purple; and they have the appearance of a spider web. They are commonly found on the face and legs.


Q: How does spider vein treatments work?


A: Laser light penetrates deep into the dermis, deep-heating the tissue in the targeted area and stimulating long-dormant collagen. As a result, the collagen contracts and tightens, producing visibly firmer-looking skin in the treated area. Results of our skin tightening procedure become more dramatic over time as collagen re-builds though a series of treatments is effective and safe for all skin types.


Q: How many treatments will I need?


A: A number of treatments are determined at your consultation and is based on your requirements and goals. It also depends on:

  • The desired degree of blood vessel reduction
  • Hormonal status
  • The area being treated
  • Medications, (prednisone can increase superficial blood vessel growth)


Q: How long is each treatment?


A: Treatments take 15-20 minutes


Q: How long will it take before I see results?


A: You cannot expect immediate results. Typically, after 2-4 treatments the appearances of your veins are dramatically reduced


Q: How long will my results last?


A: Our results are long-term. Laser treatments are very beneficial and yield great results.


Q: How long is the recovery time?

A: There is no recovery period and no down time after your sessions you. You can perform them on your lunch break and return to work.


Q: Are treatments comfortable?

A: Yes, Treatments are completely comfortable and pain-free. Most people feel very little during their treatment and find it comfortable and relaxing. The typical sensation felt is slight warmth where the treatment pads are in contact with your skin.


Q: Are laser treatments safe?


A: Yes.


Q: Who is a good candidate for the spider vein treatments?

A: Treatments are safe for all skin types and all body types and are FDA approved. These treatments can be used on both men and women. As with any treatment, people with certain medical conditions should not use laser treatments. Your CLS will go through a full medical questionnaire and consultation prior to treatment to confirm suitability.


Q: What are the risks associated with spider vein treatments?

A: Independent clinical studies have shown laser procedures to be completely safe with minimal side effects. Our lasers are FDA cleared. Minor side effects could be:

  • Bruising
  • Bleeding
  • Scarring
  • Blistering
  • Swelling
  • Redness caused by the treatment can be camouflaged by makeup without any negative effects.
  • The treatment area should be kept well moisturized.


Q: How much do the treatments cost?


A: The average cost per session ranges depending on the amount of area being treated. These treatments are usually considered a cosmetic procedure; the cost is not covered by most medical insurance companies.
