Frequently Asked Questions about
Stretch Mark Treatments
Q: What are Stretch Mark?
A: Stretch marks typically appear as bands of parallel lines on your skin. These lines are a different color and texture than your normal skin, and they range from purple to bright pink to light gray. When you touch stretch marks with your fingers, you might feel a slight ridge or indentation on your skin. Sometimes, stretch marks feel itchy or sore. These lines commonly appear during or after pregnancy or after a sudden change in your weight. They also tend to occur in adolescents who are rapidly growing. Stretch marks aren’t dangerous, and they often disappear over time. You can have stretch marks just about anywhere, but they’re most common on your stomach, breasts, upper arms, thighs, and buttocks.
Q: How does Stretch Mark Treatments work?
A: Laser light penetrates deep into the dermis, deep-heating the tissue in the targeted area and stimulating long-dormant collagen. As a result, the collagen contracts and tightens, producing visibly firmer-looking skin in the treated area. Results of our skin tightening procedure become more dramatic over time as collagen re-builds though a series of treatments is effective and safe for all skin types.
Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: A number of treatments are determined at your consultation and is based on your requirements and goals. For optimal results, we recommend a series 6-8 treatment over 2-4 weeks.
Q: How long is each treatment?
A: Treatments typically take 20-30 minutes
Q: What kind of results can I expect from stretch mark treatments?
A: After just one treatment may notice firmer, tauter skin in the treated area; fine lines and wrinkles fill in and frown lines soften. For optimal results, we recommend a series 8-12 treatment over 3-5 weeks.
Q: How long will it take before I see results?
A: You cannot expect immediate results. Typically after 4-6 treatments the appearances of your stretch marks are dramatically reduced.
Q: How long will my results last?
A: Our results are long-term. Laser treatments are very beneficial and can yield you great results.
Q: How long is the recovery time?
A: There is no recovery period and no down time after your sessions you. You can perform them on your lunch break and return to work.
