Lipo Q & A

Frequently Asked Questions about Laser Lipo

Q: What is laser lipo?

A: Laser light penetrates deep into the dermis, deep-heating the tissue in the targeted area and stimulating fat deposits stored in your body. It works to convert these deposits into energy, which is burned off in post-treatment exercise. One major benefit is that it is conducted by a certified laser specialist and is approved by the FDA. This procedure is a much safer alternative to liposuction.

Q: Does laser lipo hurt?

A: No, laser lipo is completely pain-free.

Q: Is this just a different kind of liposuction?

A: No, laser lipo is painless and requires no needles, no surgery and no recovery time.

Q: How many inches can I loss with laser lipo?

A: Patients typically have a 10% in inch reduction following a full treatment regimen.

Q: How long will it take before I see results?

A: Results can be seen immediately after each treatment as the fat cell contents are released.

Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: A number of treatments are determined at your consultation and is based on your requirements and goals. We suggest 2 treatments a week over 5-6 weeks to complete a full course of treatments.

Q: How long is each treatment?

A: Treatments take 20-30 minutes followed by 15-20 minutes of infrared laser vacuum massage. The length of time for your post-treatment exercise to "burn off" the free fatty acids is determined at your consultation and is based on your requirements and goals.

Q: Why do I have to work out after my laser lipo treatments?

A: Once the fat cells are broken down after laser treatments, the contents of the fat cells need a way to exit the body. If they do not exit the body within a few hours, they get reabsorbed by other fat cells. A brief workout immediately after a treatment ensures that the fat is excreted via the lymphatic system. Working out gives the body a way to metabolize and excrete the fat that is broken down. If you don’t do a workout after your session, you run the risk of the released fat being absorbed by other cells since your lymphatic system is not actively draining it.

Q: Are treatments comfortable?

A: Yes, Treatments are completely comfortable and pain-free. Most people feel very little during their treatments and find it comfortable and relaxing. The typical sensation felt is slight warmth where the treatment pads are in contact with your skin.

Q: Who is a good candidate for the spider vein treatments?

A: Treatments are safe for all skin types and all body types and are FDA approved. These treatments can be used on both men and women and can treat most areas of the body except the female breast.
